Endodontic Associates is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Diana Choi to our practice. Dr. Choi joins us after serving in the United States Army for the past 8yrs. She is a native of Cedar Rapids and attended Xavier High School. Inspired by her dad, who recently retired as a general dentist in Cedar Rapids, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in dentistry at an early age. In only 3 years Dr. Choi received her BA degree in Psychology with High Distinction from the University of Iowa. She went on to graduate from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2010. During her training she received the University of Iowa Dean’s Leadership Award as well as the Excellence in Dentistry for the Elderly Award, the University of Iowa American College of Prosthodontics Award, the Norma Adams Memorial Scholarship Award, and numerous research awards. She was awarded a 4-year Dental Research Scholarship during dental school and presented her research on Streptococcus mutans at numerous local and national dental conferences. Dr. Choi received first place in the American Dental Association Pre-Doctoral Table Clinics Award. With a strong research background Dr. Choi understands the importance of using evidence-based dentistry to perform excellent treatment for her patients. She also received the Army Health Professions Scholarship during dental school and became commissioned into the United States Army upon graduation. During her years of active duty service she developed a passion for endodontics receiving her endodontic certificate from the Army residency program in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 2015. Realizing the sacrifice that soldiers make for their country she treated them as if they were family members and extends that philosophy to all the patients she treats.
Dr. Choi has two young children and two miniature schnauzer dogs. Her dad graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry so the Big Ten Conference football season is highly anticipated in their household. She enjoys running, traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
